Donuts, Banana Bread and Touch Ups

I asked Theo what he wanted for breakfast today. He said donuts and I couldn't say no. We walked over to Bogarts to pick them up. He liked that the sequins on his shirt lit up the donut bag.

Meanwhile, back at home Meadow was making second breakfast of mini eggs and toast.

The kids bedrooms were so close to being done. Scott put the baseboard shoes back on so I needed to caulk.

Can't have tiny gaps, I guess.

We borrowed a projector from Daniel for Meadow's birthday party. We tried it out the night before by using our big map as a screen.

Sometimes these kids get along and play with their toys.

Ever since Blake got Instagram he sends me random videos, like Bundt tacos. You know I had to try this.

Fun idea, but I think I'll stick with cruchwraps next time.

On Sunday Meadow made banana bread. We seem to always have way too ripe bananas or should I say just ripe enough. Brooke hates bananas with spots.

Ew. They have to be slightly green.

I just need to clean off all the dust from sanding and her room is ready to be put back together.

Yay to projectors from funcles.

Backcountry Camping with Kids in Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Day 1 Back in May I stumbled upon Theodore Roosevelt National Park. I had no idea there was a National Park in North Dakota and that it was the northern end of the Badlands. Usually our summer vacations coincide with Scott's work trips. Since he didn't have any this summer I thought we should take advantage of actually taking a vacation. What, my workcations are always classics? I suppose a second real vacation this year wouldn't hurt. We definitely have more time than normal. As long as we took Covid-19 precautions and avoided people. We finally settled on a time to go. Blake joined us so we borrowed our dad's van so we could ride together. Scott had just driven from Michigan the day before. Blake had met my parents in Wisconsin to get the van and then drove from Duluth to pick us up. Duluth For The Day

After work I decided to drive up to Duluth to visit my little brother Blake. Scott would have come with me if he didn't have to work. Like most streets in Duluth he lives on a steep hill. I couldn't remember how to park on a hill so I copied the car in front of me. He gave me a tour of his house and when we were in his backyard I heard rushing water. There was a trail and some woods that we followed down a hill to Chester Creek. I had no idea he lived so close to a park. Or a waterfall. We walked a ways to find an old ski jump. Blake said he climbed it when he first moved here and a month later the city took the stairs down. The ski lift is still in use for sledding. Walking back to his house we passed another ski jump. Back when this was first built it was the tallest in the world. During World War II 50 feet was taken off the top to give to the war effort....

Mobile and NOLA for a Work Trip

I've been working with a Canadian company that specializes in marketing for the boat industry. They needed someone to shoot 5 Edgewater boats down in Alabama. Since I'm fully vaccinated, I took them up on the gig. There are no direct flights into the gulf coast except New Orleans. After landing in New Orleans, I drove the two hours over to Mobile, Alabama in the pickup truck that the rental company gave me. My airbnb was on the right.
