On Thursday evening the kids school had an international night. Since this was the only year both kids would be at the same school we did a booth.
Theo is making this face because his teacher was so proud of him.
We decided to celebrate the kids Polish heritage. I'm a a quarter Polish, but they're only an 1/8th. Ha.
I made (not enough) pirogies. They were a big hit.
Theo is still loving his fort bed.
And snuggling on Meadow's bean bag.
I always forget how easy crepes can be. Well, that's because the kids always request the caramel apple topping, sliced strawberries, etc. My mom always just served it with (fake) syrup. This is how you start a proper Mayday.
Theo LOVED the battle train so much last year we couldn't wait to show him again.
We ended up on the sunny side of the street. Theo hates being warm.
The parade was little bigger than last year. Hopefully every year it gets more and more back to how it was.
It was cool to see folks make their own theme and take on the legacy that Heart of the Beast built up over the long history.
This was almost like an old school Mayday parade.
Probably the highlight of this year's Mayday. Nothing more Minneapolis than this parade.
Kitty bike for Meadow.
Art cars have been a nice addition to the parade the past two years.
This toy car has been around for years.
Brass Messenger Band even showed up.
I'm still disappointed that I only saw one Elvis impersonator in Vegas.
It's funny how they weren't allowed in the OG parade and now they've spearheaded the rebirth. Thanks South Side Battletrain.
We left soon after the parade ended as we had to get back to finish house projects.
Theo immediately went to drawing the battle train.
Then he played outside. He's really been into frisbees lately.
Awww.
I got some fairy garden items from cottage Santa that we could finally bring out.
I would've liked to be priming the outside of the house, but it keeps raining every couple of days. The cedar shingles are bare in large areas, which means I have to wait 48 hours each time it rains to get in any painting or priming.
It would be done in no time.
