Meadow @ 6 months

She's finally figured out how to roll over from her front to back.


She's still working on sitting on her own. I will put her in the sitting position and she will try to eat her toes or reach for something and ends up falling over.


She's still trying to learn to crawl. She can get on her hands and toes and put one knee down. I think it will be any day now that she will crawl.


I'm in no rush to feed her solids.


She currently loves to yell in a really high voice, roll around, sleep on her stomach, grab glasses off people's faces, put everything in her mouth, yell at her toys, smile at people, and grab her toes.


She giggles when we make goofy sounds to her.

She's much better in cars. Mostly sleeps. She only complains if her diaper is dirty or is really hungry.

On a good night she gets up one or two times. On a bad night four or five times.


Her bald spot keeps growing. She's starting to lose hair on one side of her head.

Meadow's 12th Birthday Weekend

Our little gal was turning 12 this week. That meant a picnic in the park along Minneapolis' Minnehaha Creek. The kids and I were in a competition of who could get to 1,000 first. They had to spend 1,000 hours outside and I had to walk 1,000 miles. To be fair the kids started January 2024 and I started January of this year.  They beat me and decided their reward was to go to Minnesota's Largest Candy Store.  I'm trying to loose weight, Brooklyn. I always walk around with Brooke and the kids knowing I just want the homemade treats on the way out. We also picked up some crazy snacks for the upcoming 4th weekend up north. They had changed a few of their murals since we were here last.  We forgot to get the lemon candy apparently. Meadow wanted to go to her favorite pizza place for her birthday dinner. Honeymoon: Back to the Cottage

Day 11 We decided to turn the second half of our honeymoon into a relaxing time at my parents cottage in northern Wisconsin. It was weird sleeping in the cottage after being in a small tent for a week. My dad called to see if we made it in okay and I mentioned it felt too open and civilized being back at the cottage. He said, "Why don't you pitch a tent out back then?" I was OK with the bed. I slept like a baby. Who knew we had this many shoes with us? Immediately when I woke up I did laundry and cleaned out our car. After setting up camp so many times we started shoving things back in without putting them away. I wanted to get everything back in their right place.  Scott picked on me for working instead of relaxing. Later I found him reorganizing a cupboard. There was no order to there canned food. Why would you have soup in line with canned mushrooms? We enjoyed pancakes for breakfast. I know Scott was getting sick of oatmeal.  We ...
