Dear Diary,

We were up late the night before and I worked a lot this week so I needed to sleep in today. Don't judge me.

I do my "homework" right away so I don't have to worry about it later.

Scott thinks this is a good idea too.

I didn't do dishes last night after dinner so I'm stuck doing them this morning.

Scott makes breakfast. He pulls out all our options for fillings.

Aebleskivers, bananas, and hot tea.

The floor is overdue for a sweeping.

A week before we moved into our house we noticed a dent in our car. A month ago we finally got a quote on how much it was going to cost to get fixed. When we found out it would be $800 dollars we decided to try to fix it ourselves. This is our second suction cup. The first one just scratched the paint. This one would work if it could catch on a flat surface. Maybe we'll try again another day.

We have lunch at Ikea. The meatballs are the only thing I can handle eating there.

We shop for new curtains and other things for the home. We almost bought the light on the right before we realized that although it was a good price it was too generic for us.

We go across the street to the MOA. Scott needed a new shirt for work. Which we didn't end up finding.

Next we head over to Target to get a curtain rod. Ikea didn't have one big enough to cover our windows. We looked at rugs too.

We go home to make dinner heat up our leftovers.

We also got more candles.

Jambalaya, breakfast burritos and a Lift Bridge Chestnut Hill beer.

We work late putting up our new curtains.

We'll finish with the pullbacks tomorrow.

Good Night.

Fixing a Garage Wall

After a few years of working on other projects and bouncing ideas off of Brooke's dad, I finally decided to repair the garage wall. First step was taking off the bad siding. Theo decided he wanted to be an eagle for halloween this year. I had to check that the wings I made fit him.  We harvested the tiny watermelon from our garden and then no one ate it. Come on. It was so cute. First step was adding some metal trim coil to help shed water that gets through the fiber cement siding. Whenever it rains or snow melts it leaks into our garage. In the winter our garage floor turns into an ice rink.  Next I put the first row of fiber cement siding as far down as possible. This was not as low as the original siding.  It was almost impossible to clean out the crack between the neighbor's blacktop and my garage wall. Someday they'll replace their parking pad and I'll make sure it's NOT against my garage. After chatting with Brooke's dad I figured out how to get the next r...

With Spring Comes Biking

Whenever daylight savings changes I flip the mattress. (I know I'm a little late) Every new season I change the duvet cover.  Scott actually helps me this time. Yup, I'm cool like that. I was a little worried we had too much dough so we got out every pan that could be used for muffins. I was wrong, we only needed two pans. By the time we actually eat "breakfast," at least that's what Brooke calls it, Peanut has already finished most of his Organmix. I know, we spoil the little runt. Speaking of Brooke's fascination with breakfast, she will not eat anything that resembles lunch for her first meal of the day. So, even on the laziest Sunday, breakfast comes before lunch. As you can see Brooklyn really loved her muffin-fast -- even if it was already 1 p.m. While I finish up some dishes Brooke cleans the kitchen. Did you know that Brooke is a cleaning expert (really, she'll clean your house or cook for you. H...

Cleaning Up the Garage and Yard

After talking about it for awhile Scott picked up a U-Haul and we spent the better half of a Friday loading it up. We had random stuff left by the previous owners and house projects. Like 99% of this was just crap left behind by the old owners. Theo wanted oatmeal for breakfast so I told him how to do it. Good thing our old kitchen has children sized counters. Never not going to be nervous with Theo cutting veggies and fruit. Theo loves working on his math books. Kitty ate my breakfast crumbs. After taking our junk filled Uhaul to the dump we reorganized and cleaned our garage. It's so nice to have more space and no more carpet on the floor. I was probably annoying Brooke with my endless sweeping, but in the end I could actually see the pavement instead of an inch of cement dust and debris.    Meadow had been interested in seeing how long it would take to walk to her school. We were about to go when Theo said he wanted to join. Gonna take a good deal longer if you stop at the ...
