I pick up Scott from school and he is surprised.
A couple of weeks ago in his sleep Scott told me that he wanted a Batman pinata for his birthday and that I was going to forget. He doesn't remember saying this.

He wishes for a pinata for his birthday next year.

We gobbled up the cake

We all go back to the cube because kitty is hungry

for some reason because it sounded good at the time. we take the bus to psycho suzi's

we order a lot of food

the birthday boy gets drunk

We take the bus back but only make it halfway home. We missed the last bus and train of the night. Cevonne comes back to rescue us.

New Ulm, August Schell's and Waseca County Free Fair Weekend

It's fair season which means a new to us county fair. I was driving back via the scenic route from Albert Lea earlier in the week when I saw that Waseca County was throwing their "Free Fair" this weekend. Since we were already going to nearby New Ulm, why not make a day of it? You know our first food stop is the lemonade stand, especially on this really hot day. The tanker size was a must. We now are collecting these giant lemonade contraptions, I guess. It was hot and humid. The lemonade wouldn't last too long. Then it was lunch time. Of course Meadow just picked sweets.

Star Island Canoe Camping on Minnesota's Cass Lake

Scott had a job in Moorhead. You know what that means, road trip! I had to get a photo of Theo being sweet holding his Baby. We stayed the night at a Best Western. I've been photographing a lot of these and they're all pretty dang nice. We spent the night swimming in their small waterpark. I looked up the best playground in Fargo and found Maplewood Park. Meanwhile I shot the Minnesota State - Moorhead campus. What was even better was that it had a ninja warrior course too. Mexico City has adult "playgrounds" next to all the kids playgrounds and I wish we had more of that here. We had small ones all along the Oak Leaf Trail in Milwaukee County. Not sure what Minneapolis' deal is. This was harder to do than it looked. The kids were much better at it than me. I've really gotten out of shape over the years. She says this, but she still looks great.

Brooke's Brithday Cabin Weekend: Soudan Undergournd-Lake Vermillion State Park Edition

It was Brooke's birthday cabin weekend. We were going to the brand new camper cabins at Soudan Mine-Lake Vermillion State Park, but decided to break up our drive in Duluth. Remnants of Boubville still stand in Blake's backyard. Scott and I wanted to get breakfast at Duluth Grill but the kids won with their request for Superior Waffles . The place is pretty good to be honest. Blake has made progress since we were here last. He said he was trying to get it all done before Easter and was then disappointed to learn we wouldn't be coming for Easter this year. Sorry Blake and Daniel. If we had more room in our Roadsufer campervan rental , we'd bring you along next month. This years birthday cabin brought us to Lake Vermilion State Park . My original plan was to go to Winnipeg, but knowing this mild winter, we didn't think that would work. We even talked about going to Arkansas. With a spring break trip coming up we decided to stay close by. The Minnesota State Park camp
