Keep Me Like A Key I'm The Only One

Mother came up for a few days. It was her last spring break and she wanted to go somewhere. I don't know why. She's been on spring break for 22 years. It was nice in a way, she brought me food and bought me things. She is the only person that doesn't make me miss the company of others. Our personalities are so different, we have some things in common, enough to find things to do anyway. I just don't understand sometimes how she can be my mother. We went to IKEA where we spent most of our time in the childrens department where she picked out things I should buy my kids. She kept trying to get me to buy things for them now. I think she wants to be a grandma.

The passport company of america isn't on my best list right now. They need to figure things out better. "Let's pass a law so that you can't go to Mexico or Canada without a passport right before spring break. Oh great now we're working overtime and so many people are mad at us, wow what a great idea." I guess I shouldn't complain I did get my passport finally after trying to call them for 2 days and being on hold for 45 minutes. I was supposed to pay an extra 50 dollars, but I never got charged. Now I'm just more excited to go even though I have no money and I'm going to come back more broke than ever.

Our last day of class we talked about ice cream and got to try many different samples. Why can't all classes be this fun?

Yes I'm Still Alive

Sorry for the lack of updates. One reason being that I'm never actually at my house anymore and I figured my life was too boring to write about. Well, up until today it was. I am no longer a schooless wonder. I won't get jealous whenever I drive by the U, because....I go to school now. Woo. But...at a school I didn't think I would be going to up until today. It was just an idea a week ago and today I was convinced this is the school for me. I'm going to the Art Institutes International Minnesota. Something I should of done a long time ago. Why did it take so long for me to realize I should go to art school like I originally planned. I'm actually stuck between the photography program and the baking and pastry program. I know two totally different fields, hopefully the winter semester will help me decide. I don't know I do love my cake. C'mon who wouldn't want to eat that. I've pretty much been working everyday now. My arm is better so I'm back to...

Backcountry Camping with Kids in Theodore Roosevelt National Park

Day 1  Back in May I stumbled upon Theodore Roosevelt National Park. I had no idea there was a National Park in North Dakota and that it was the northern end of the Badlands. Usually our summer vacations coincide with Scott's work trips. Since he didn't have any this summer I thought we should take advantage of actually taking a vacation. What, my workcations are always classics? I suppose a second real vacation this year wouldn't hurt. We definitely have more time than normal. As long as we took Covid-19  precautions and avoided people. We finally settled on a time to go. Blake joined us so we borrowed our dad's van so we could ride together. Scott had just driven from Michigan the day before. Blake had met my parents in Wisconsin to get the van and then drove from Duluth to pick us up. I offered to drive since I literally only drive twice a month.  I was still pretty tired from a long drive home. Since we were near Fergus Falls we had to stop by the abandoned state ho...

When Brookie Met Scottie

Scott and I first met back in February 2006. I drove up to Minneapolis for the weekend to visit my cousin and future roommate Stacey. She had been invited to a friend of hers birthday party. We actually gave Scott and his roommates a ride to the party. I thought he was super cute and never thought in a million years that he'd even talk to me. I instantly felt comfortable around him and we talked the whole night. I called Cevonne the next day to tell her all about this guy I met and she said, "You're going to marry him." My reaction was, "My initials will be BAT." We spent almost the entire weekend together. Seeing as I was not living in Minneapolis I was worried we wouldn't see each other again, but Scott assured me he would come to Appleton during his spring break. I remember coming home excited to find that he already friended me on Facebook. We had awkward phone conversations and chats on AIM and then a month later he did indeed come u...
